On 7/3/2020, Rescue Units from the New Castle County Swift Water Rescue Team were alerted for a reported double drowning in the Hoopes Reservoir. MRU-18 and Marine-2 responded, along with units from all over New Castle County. Fortunately, the incident was found to be a false alarm.
