Working Fire in the Local

Just after 10 am this morning, Company 18 and the mutual aid were alerted to a residential fire in the 500 Block of W. Ninth Street. New Castle Police and the NCC EMS Supervisor arrived and reported smoke showing. The box was upgraded to work. Engine 18 laid out from the top of the street and found fire showing from the rear. Crews made a push and were assisted by additional arriving units. The fire was knocked down and extensive overhaul ensued. Overall, crews operated for over two hours and there were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
