The fire company placed into service a 2018 ASAP Quick Response Vehicle. This unit is built on a Polaris Ranger 6x4 chassis and and features an enclosed and climate controlled patient compartment that holds a full size stretcher and has seating for two providers, under bench storage that is accessible from the outside, a portable 2,000lb winch with attachment points on the front and rear, an onboard generator that provides power to the hvac unit as well as two 110v outlets on the unit.
This unit will be used by the company to respond to medical emergencies in Battery Park and along the coast line trail, along the Industrial Tract Trail, and throughout the areas inaccessible to standard size apparatus in our district. This unit will also be utilized to stand by at special events throughout New Castle.
This unit will be identified as QRS 18.
