On Thursday 3/15 as members were finishing up training evolutions at Delaware State Fire School, units were alerted to assist Delaware City Fire Company at a house fire in the 100 Block of Clinton Street in Delaware City. Engine and Tower 18 both responded from Fire School along with Deputy 18. While Good Will units were responding, Asst Chief 15-8D arrived and reported fire showing. Command directed Engine and Tower 18 to make access off of Hamilton Street to the rear of the structure. Engine 18 arrived, secured their own water supply, and deployed the 400’ preconnect to the rear and stood by while Tower 18 was positioned in a field behind the residence and the crew went to the roof to ventilate. The incident was brought under control shortly after by interior crews. Members from Good Will operated for approximately 1 hour before returning.
