Just after 3pm, Good Will units along with Minquadale Fire Company, Station 22 Ambulance B-22 and New Castle County Paramedics were alerted to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Ejection on Quigley Blvd in the area of the U.S. Post Office. Ambulance B-18 was returning from the hospital and had just crossed Hares Corner when the incident was dispatched, allowing them to arrive and start providing care while the 911 caller was still on the line. Additional units including Squad 18, Chief 18, Deputy Chief 18, and Wilmington Manor Fire Company Rescue Engine 28 made the response. B-18 arrived and advised negative ejection, but one trapped. Squad 18 and Rescue Engine 28 worked together to provide care and extricate the trapped patient. After an approximate 10 minute extrication, the driver was removed from the vehicle and moved to the ambulance for transport. Two patients were transported to local hospitals in serious condition. Fire Police controlled traffic around the scene. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
