At 3:20am on Thursday morning, Engine 18 was alerted to assist Hockessin Fire Company - Station 19 on a second alarm fire at the abandoned NVF plant on Yorklyn Road. Engine 18 arrived and was able to get into position to draft from a nearby creek and supply a large diameter supply line as well as a 2 1/2” handline. Units continue to operate at the incident, mopping up hot spots and gaining access to pockets of fire in collapsed areas of the building.

Members from Good Will and Port Penn Volunteer Fire Company have combined to provide an engine crew in New Castle.
