Squad 18 Update
Friday, December 14, 2018
We have received photos with updated progress from Marco Equipment along with some of our own photos from a quick trip up to drop off some equipment.
The cab doors have been finished and hung. The new windshields have been installed with new gasket and chrome bezel. The glass for the fixed windows between the front and back doors had arrived and will be installed shortly. The diamond plate has all been reinstalled on the cab. Mirrors are installed and wired. Roof lights installed. Most of the cab work has been completed.
Body rusted areas have been cut open and sandblasted. They will be spending a decent amount of time on all of these areas cutting out bad areas, fabbing in new components, and having components blasted. The tank cradle is out and has had all of the bad supports cut out. The next step is blasting and then rebuilding. The body doors are being prepped for paint and the interior is being coated with a rust inhibitor.
All of this work will take them probably through the holiday at at this point. Once we break through the first of the year, we will see significant progress with painting and reassembly of the body.
