Engine 18 Responds as Extra Engine on a Large Junkyard Fire

Saturday evening, Engine 18 assisted Minquas of Newpot on a large junkyard fire off Old Airport Road. Upon arrival, Engine 18 stablished an additional supply line from Rescue Engine 30-6 to Rescue Engine 12. The crew then took multiple 2 1/2" and 1 3/4" hose bundles off of Engine 18 and proceded back to the fire. The crews were able to hook up to Tanker 19 and place the 2 1/2" handline in service. After knocking down the bulk of the fire in their area, a gated wye was placed on the end of the 2 1'2" hose and the 1 3/4" handlines were placed in service. The crew operated for over 3 hours at the scene before clearing.
