A few weeks back, Ambulance 18 responded to a service call for a person fallen in the district. Upon arrival, FF/EMT’s Shoemaker and Moore assessed the patient and assisted her up off the ground and back to her chair. While talking with the patient, they learned that the only suitable chair for her was an old, hardwood chair with no padding and little support. The staff recommended an easy up type recliner that could help the patient get to her feet from a sitting position. The family advised that they had looked around, but could not find one within their budget.
After a quick internet search and a few phone conversation over the span of a week, the staff had located a used easy up chair in excellent condition that was well within the budget of the family.
On Wednesday, the staff members traveled to pick up the chair and deliver it to the family.
