Another steady day in New Castle. This morning, the Box Alarm was transmitted for 407 Marina Lane in New Castle for an extinguished structure fire. Engine and Chief 18 responded. Units arrived and found that the resident had a small electrical fire in the ceiling of the bathroom. The resident had applied a home fire extinguisher before arrival. The crew checked the area for extension and found none. Later in the day, Engine 18 was on radio when Wilmington Manor was alerted to a Vehicle into the Building at the Walgreens in Beacerbrook. Engine 18 assisted with structural evaluation and securing he utilities. Around 11am, Engine 18 was alerted as a part of the Box Alarm for the 100 block of Ninth Street in Holloway Terrace. Engine 18 arrived as the second due engine and stretched a second line from Engine 22. While stretching, the crew was advised of a possible subject trapped. The crew initiated a search that proved negative. The crew then worked to open up and ventilate. The company operated for 90 minutes before clearing.
