In the evening hours of Wednesday February 15, the Ladder and Engine were alerted to assist Wilmington Manor on a Multi-Residential Fire at Castlebrook Apartments. Ladder 18 and Engine 18 made a quick response. Ladder 18 arrived simultanously with Engien 28 and assumed the first due special service responsibilities. The crew began throwing ground ladders, getting a "C" side report, and investigating with the engine crew while the aerial was being placed to the roof. Engine 18 arrived as the third due engine and assumed the RIT responsibilities on the "A" side of the structure. Crews investigating determined that the smoke in the building was caused by unattended cooking. The Ladder and Engine operated for twenty minutes.
