Last night around 8:40pm, Rescue Boats 18, 29, Salem Co (NJ) 18, and DSP Helicopter Trooper 4 were alerted to assist Delaware City with a report of two jet ski's in distress in the Delaware River near Pea Patch Island. Rescue boat 18 Marine 1 made a quick response. Upon arrival in the reported area, the crew made contact with Fireboat 15 and then began a search. Shortly after, the crew from FB15 began to hear voices from the shoreline of Pea Patch island. Both vessels made contact with three subjects who were stranded on the rock's with jet ski's moored to the rocks as well. Two members of 18 Marine 1 exited the vessel and went on shore to evaluate the situation. The three subjects were checker for injuries and then moved onto FB15 while the 18 Marine 1 crew set up the towing of both jet ski's back to the Delaware City dock by 18 Marine 1 and 29 Marine 1. Crews operated on the river for just under two hours.
