In the evening of October 9, Ladder 18 was alerted on the box alarm for a Residential Fire on Revis Avenue in Rose Hill Community of Collins Park. Ladder 18 arrived just behind the first engine and went to work throwing ladders and ventilating. Due to the severe hoarding conditions inside the home, command evacuated the structure and declared a defensive attack. A supply ine was stretched from Engine 22 to Ladder 18 to supply the aerial waterway. Crews went to work flowing a high volume of water into the first and second floors of the structure to extinguish the deep seted fire. Due to the conditions inside the home, the structure had to be torn down to fully extingush the fire.
Ladder 18 operated on the fireground for over 7 hours befire returning to service.
