Marine Rescue Unit (MRU) 18

MRU 18 is a 2001 EVI Walk In Rescue built on a Freightliner chassis. With seating for 5 rescuers in the rear as well as a driver and an officer, this unit is set up to transport and equip 7 rescuers with all the personal protective equipment and tools to conduct river rescue's, flood rescue's, and swift water rescue's. Additionally, the MRU carries equipment to support both 18 Marine 1 and 18 Marine 2 on the river and in land. 

 

Some of the equipment carried by the MRU includes dry suits, type 5 swift water pfd's, rescue helmets, ice rescue suits, water rescue work boots, gloves, ropes and rigging, a line gun, an ice rescue sled, and much more.
