Kubota 18 is a 2017 Kubota RTV 1120D. The unit has bee upfitted with a with a Kimtek fire skid, a front mounted winch, and emergency lights and siren. The main feature of the unit is the skid that carries 70 gallons of water and 50' booster hose reel supplied by a 5.5hp pump. The skid has been outfitted with an additional 100' of 1" forrestry hose, 100' of 1 3/4" hose, hands tools, a chain saw, and water supply adapters and nozzles.
Kubota 18 is used to access the vast amount of greenways trails that trace the New Castle Shoreline from the North end of town down through Battery Park and past Dobbinsville as well as the New Castle Industrial Trail that runs West out of town ultimatly connecting to the City of Wilmington Riverfront. This units small profile allows it to maneuver into the small trail access areas where the larger units cannot. This unit will also be utilized to make responses during Art on the Green, the Colinial Barbeque Competition, Separation Day, and a host of other events in the City of New Castle.
